Junction House Range Section
This section hike crosses the Junction House Range from Spanish Springs to Golden Valley. Sun screen and sun glasses are a nice to have.
Crossing the Junction House Range
For this section it is advised to get water in a town as there is no water sources outside of the towns in this section of the hike which is about 11 or 12 miles. Continue the hike on the jeep trail behind the school head up the Junction House Range Ridgeline. One can find adequct camping areas on the top of the ridge line. I am not going to lie, from here the next 4 or five miles are a bit of maze of off-road vehicle wasteland and a hiker should use their GPS and/or orientation skills to end up on Estate Road - Golden Valley Nevada.
Golden Valley Nevada and Gateway to Peavine Range
From estate road take Golden Valley Road to the 395 underpass. At this location a hiker could avail themselves to a meal or supplies at a super market. It's a good idea to get water here as well as the Peavine Section is dry for five to six miles. Continue past Highwat 395 on Golden Valley Road and take a left onto Yorkshire Drive, a quick right onto Carlyle Drive, a right onto Montgomery and then a right onto Burgess Place and past Raleigh Heights Park to teh Short Road Spur A.
